Last Wednesday, Newport & District Running Club were well represented at the “Vic Musgrove Fast 5k”, the fourth race in this year’s Sexarathon series, hosted by Telford AC. Taking place in a combination of Telford Town Park, the paths around the lower pools, and the Silkin Way, the course has massive net downhill elevation change, allowing for quick times! This year’s course was different to previous editions, thanks to a sinkhole which has closed part of the Silkin Way for several months.

Alex Millington was the first NDRC runner to finish, taking 6th place overall in a time of 16 minutes, 17 seconds. Youngster Harry Wilmot was next, taking 37th overall, and 2nd in his age category, with a time of 17:54, whilst Robin Guy also took 2nd in his age category, with a time of 18:05 for 44th place overall. David Brown broke the 20-minute barrier with his time of 19:48, taking 95 position, whilst Phil Dolding was 133rd in 21:17.
