Last Thursday saw the first race of this year’s “Spring Treble” take place: “The Kibblestone Klamber”. Organised by Stone Master Marathoners, this annual series comprises three races, which take place on consecutive Thursday evenings in April, and on approximately 5-mile, extremely hilly off-road courses!

David Brown (#34) led the way for NDRC

This year’s series-opener at Kibblestone saw an amended course debut, reducing the number of laps to two, from three previously, but extending the distance for each lap, which takes runners around the scout camp and surrounding woodland at Kibblestone. The challenge for runners remains, with huge elevation changes on each lap, testing legs to the limit!

David Brown was the first member of Newport & District Running Club to complete the course, finishing in 42 minutes, 18 seconds to take 40th place overall.
