At the weekend, Sue Wylie of Newport & District Running Club made the trip to Fradley, near Lichfield in Staffordshire, to take part in their annual 10k road race. This race is a popular local village race with a real community feel, and the route takes runners on a 2-lap tour of Fradley and the surrounding countryside, which gives runners the chance to feel the local support constantly throughout.

Sue finished the race in 463rd place, in a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes, 6 seconds, in a field of 701 runners. She said afterwards: “Fradley 10k was the first race of the year for me. A great village race, well organised with fabulous support throughout!”
