Last weekend, Sally Morgan of Newport & District Running Club took part in the RAF Shawbury 10k, a race which happened to be only her second race in 15 years! It was sunny, if breezy, on Sunday morning for the race, and Sally said she felt boosted along by the conditions. The route itself consists of 2 different laps of the airfield, which is relatively flat, but exposed to the windy conditions.
Sally was part of a 275-strong field of runners, and she came across the line in 59 minutes, 52 seconds in 190th place, a time she was very happy with. She was also 53rd female runner, and 6th in her age category.
