On Sunday 5th December Newport runner Ellen Deighton travelled down to Worcester to take part in the Worcester Ring Run. The route is just over 22 miles and starts and ends in Droitwich Spa, using canal towpaths and riverside footpaths, and taking in Diglis Bridge and Worcester Racecourse en route.

The rain held off on race day though the wind made for chilly conditions, particularly running into a headwind along the river and racecourse in Worcester city centre, but rain in the days leading up to the race meant some mud along the way.

Ellen was pleased to finish in 4:23:18, just 3 minutes slower than the last time she ran this race in April this year, which had much more favourable conditions.
