On Sunday, eight members of Newport & District Running Club made the short trip to Telford to take on the Ironbridge Half Marathon. Starting and finishing in Telford Town Park, this tough, hilly race takes runners down the Silkin Way, before taking in a clockwise lap through Madeley, Coalport, Jackfield, Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale, before returning up the Silkin Way to the finish.

Ashley Moore was the first NDRC runner to finish, stopping the clock at 1 hour, 31 minutes, 56 seconds and taking 19th position overall. Jonathan Pierce, running his second half marathon in as many weekends, was next, finishing 28th in a time of 1:35:10. He was followed by David Brown, who was 58th in 1:41:49, just ahead of Phil Link, who was 68th in a time of 1:42:52.

Vance Heath was next for Newport, 221st overall with his time of 2:06:24, whilst Emily Boardman was in hot pursuit, clocking a time of 2:08:38 for 235th place. Louise Patterson ran her third fastest HM time ever, 2:24:39, to finish 324th, whilst Louise Heath was 354th in 2:33:08.
