Last weekend, Newport & District Running Club’s Andy Churm became the latest club member to take part in 500 parkruns. He chose to go “on tour” to Y Promenâde, Llandrillo-yn-Rhos parkrun, a spectacular seaside course on the north coast of Wales, to complete this huge milestone!

Andy said after completing his milestone: “Since starting parkrun back in September 2013, I’ve finally hit the big 500. I’ve taken part in 87 different events across 8 countries and picked up 50 volunteer credits, mainly at junior parkrun on Sunday mornings. Next stop: 1,000 – if my legs don’t give up on me first!

Andy’s parkrun journey started in September 2013 at Telford parkrun’s 27th event, and has taken him around the world, with parkruns in 6 different nations (the UK, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Poland and The Netherlands), and includes 87 different parkrun locations, including the original parkrun: Bushy! His p-index is 9, his Wilson Index is 20, and his PB is 20 minutes, 55 seconds!
