Wednesday night saw the continuation of this year’s Sexarathon series, with the second race: the “Phoenix Flyer”. A 5k race named after the school which once stood in Dawley (since renamed) that acts as the race HQ, the route takes runners on three laps of Dawley town centre, taking in George Street, High Street, Captain Webb Drive and Doseley Road, whilst featuring around 50 metres of elevation gain. Runners are split into two groups to take on the race to ease congestion, with runners expected to finish in under 21 minutes in wave one at 7pm, and everyone else starting 30 minutes later.
