On Sunday, Helen Holdroyd of Newport & District Running Club ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Winding its way through the streets of the capital city, the route for this race takes runners past iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Nelson’s Column, to name but a few! The start is located at Westminster by Downing Street, and finishes by Trafalgar Square.

Helen was running with her two sons, Ian and David, and they all crossed the line together in a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, 26 seconds, beating the 2-hour mark! They were supported on the day by fellow NDRC club member Pat Arnot, who was brandishing a feather duster, to stand out in the crowds of what was a very well-supported race!
