On Sunday, David Evans made his race debut for Newport & District Running Club, taking on the Walton Summer Wobble, a 10k race that starts and finishes at Walton-on-the-Hill, just outside Stafford. Featuring over 155m of elevation changes, the undulating route is largely out-and-back on the road between Walton and Brocton, whilst also featuring a bridleway section to add a little variety.

Runners were treated to a dry but warm and muggy morning, making for tough conditions, but with the heavy rain thankfully holding off until later in the day. David, whose nephew Alex also regularly runs in races for NDRC, completed the course in 51 minutes, 8 seconds, which gave him 24th place overall in the race, as well as 4th in his category, out of a field of 89 runners who took to the start line.
