On Thursday night, two members of Newport & District Running Club continued their participation in the Spring Treble series, and this time it was the turn of the Kibblestone Klamber. Taking place in and around the scout camp at Kibblestone, near Stone, this brutal 3-lap course features almost 250 metres of climbing over the 4.5-mile mostly off-road route.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for Newport, as Selwyn Plant injured himself warming up before the race and had to withdraw, whilst Alex Millington overcame a twisted ankle to finish 8th overall with a time of 39 minutes exactly. Ralph Humphries was the other Novaportan to make the finish, and he clocked a time of 1 hour, 31 seconds to finish 99th overall.

The series finishes this Thursday night, at the “Barlaston Ups and Downs” race, which starts and finishes at Oulton Cricket Club near Stone.
