On Saturday, Newport & District Running Club’s Annabel Bolton took part in the Stoneleigh Park Christmas Reindeer Runs event. On offer to participants were four different distances: 5k (the “Santa Dash”), 10k (the “Reindeer Chase”), 15k (the Elven Cracker) and the Half Marathon (the “Snowman”). 

Over 100 people took part in the event, and Annabel chose to take on the longest distance, the half marathon. After taking on the course, 4 laps of the showground, she finished in 15th place overall and 4th female, with a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes, 30 seconds.

Afterwards, Annabel said “It was a rather chilly but beautiful day, and the race was around the stunning Stoneleigh Showground, 4 laps of undulating roads and tracks. A great atmosphere, with free reindeer ears provided.”
